04 | my valentine this year? paper.
of course.
indeed, valentine's day is a day for love.
and it is a favorite holiday of lotus and ash because it is the day to show someone you care about them in a card.
this year, lotus and ash created personal, and zany (valentine's day love troll??) cards to do just that...
i was especially inspired by true love - the kind commitment that can last, and last for what seems like forever.

sometimes, lotus & ash isn't about branding, and companies, and paper. with a general love of stanford, and my sophomore class, my design has led me to become the creative director for the stanford sophomore class cabinet...which basically entails is having enough posters designed for a lifetime of formals, study breaks, and community service events.
this friday, the cabinet is hosting our one formal of the year, hooray for hollwood - a standard theme, that needed clean, modern, and glamorous design because no formal is complete without it's own identity --
logo, invitations, and tickets appear below.

and tonight we hosted "sophomore speed dating"...

Difficult to believe that one month has already passed since the launch of lotusandash.com The lack of posts must be testament, and indirectly proportional to the amount of work, and design made in the past four weeks…
I was happy to begin work on House Squad Inc, the brainchild of Peggy Murphy and Shaun Burr, which offers a personal handyman service to the bay area starting this year. We started with a logo design, and now we’re working on Service Contracts, Mailers, and a website! Design for the Stanford Sophomore Class continued, and really went into full force with our Sophomore Formal happening this month. Even though the theme was switched midway through planning, there was lots of fun, and experience, to be had designing the invites, the e-flyers, and tickets. Of course, there has been lots of paper as well – from a bible of sorts, to stationery for friends, the lotus & ash printer never got a chance to cool. One of my latest designs, Juliet, is definitely a favorite, modernizing and tweaking the classic monogram. More than any time before, I’ve realized how much of a difference a little note can bring to a day – writing a little thank you, a note of encouragement, or just a hello – can really alter one’s mood. If I wasn’t enough of one before, I’m a full-fledged cheerleader for letting writing now.
